Our commitment

Age & Sleep Calculator aims to be usable by everyone, regardless of ability or the technology they use. The site follows the spirit of WCAG 2.1 AA: semantic structure, keyboard operability, sufficient contrast, and text that stays readable at any zoom level.

Keyboard navigation

Every interactive element — menus, buttons, calculator inputs, FAQ items — can be reached with the Tab key, and the site never traps keyboard focus. A "Skip to content" link at the top of every page jumps past the header. The full list of shortcuts is on the Shortcuts page.

Screen readers and semantic HTML

Pages use proper landmarks (header, navigation, main, footer), exactly one heading level 1 per page, labeled form fields, and descriptive link text. Decorative icons are hidden from assistive technology with aria-hidden and paired with visible text or aria-label where they carry meaning.

Color and contrast

Both the light and dark themes are designed to meet WCAG AA contrast ratios. Color is never the only way information is conveyed — focus is always shown with a visible outline, not just a change in hue, and important values are marked with icons and text as well.

Motion and layout

There is no auto-playing content and no flashing animation. Layouts collapse gracefully on small screens, and the interface remains usable with browser zoom and large text settings up to at least 200 percent. The theme toggle also supports users who prefer dark interfaces.
